Please read carefully. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SecurityStatus ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About SecurityStatus

SecurityStatus is an automated domain security scanner that checks domains against security best practices across SSL/TLS, DNS, HTTP headers, and infrastructure categories, providing a scored security grade and actionable remediation guidance. It is operated by Cyberneticsplus Services Private Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of India ("we", "us", "our", "Company").

The Service is accessible at securitystatus.io and its subdomains, including app.securitystatus.io and api.securitystatus.io.

By accessing or using the Service, you ("User", "you") represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

2. Account Registration

Basic scanning is available without an account. To access advanced features, saved scan history, and paid plan benefits, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
  • Maintain and promptly update your information to keep it accurate
  • Keep your password confidential and not share it with any third party
  • Notify us immediately at [email protected] of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to refuse registration, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms.

One subscription is valid for one organisation. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits is a breach of these Terms.

3. Subscription Plans and Payment

Available Plans

The Service is offered under three plans:

  • Free Plan: Limited scans with core security checks. No payment required.
  • Yearly Plan: USD $49.00 per year, billed annually. Full access to all checks, unlimited scans, email alerts, and PDF reports.
  • Lifetime Deal: USD $99.00 as a single one-time payment. Full access for the operational lifetime of the Service.

Billing

All prices are in United States Dollars (USD) and exclude any applicable taxes, levies, or duties imposed by your jurisdiction. You are responsible for paying any such taxes.

For the Yearly Plan, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you retain access until that date.

We use third-party payment processors to handle transactions. By providing payment information you agree to their respective terms. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect your current billing period and will apply at the next renewal. Lifetime Deal purchasers are not subject to recurring price changes.

4. No Refund Policy

All payments made to SecurityStatus are final and non-refundable. By completing a purchase you acknowledge and agree that you are not entitled to a refund, credit, or exchange for any reason, including but not limited to: change of mind, dissatisfaction with the Service, failure to use the Service, or cancellation of a subscription.

This policy applies to all paid plans — Yearly and Lifetime.

Exceptions — the only situations where a refund or credit may be issued:

  • Billing errors: If you were charged an incorrect amount due to a system error, we will correct the charge or issue a refund for the difference.
  • Duplicate charges: If your account was charged more than once for the same subscription period.

To report a billing error or duplicate charge, contact [email protected] within 30 days of the charge. We will investigate and respond within 5 business days.

Chargebacks and Disputes: If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card provider without first contacting us, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your account and pursue recovery of the disputed amount, including any chargeback fees imposed on us.

5. Lifetime Deal Terms

The Lifetime Deal is a one-time purchase that grants you access to the Service for the operational lifetime of the Service. This means access for as long as Cyberneticsplus Services Private Limited continues to operate SecurityStatus as a commercially available product.

Important: "Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the Service, not the lifetime of the subscriber. It does not mean perpetual, unconditional access regardless of the Service's continued operation.

What Lifetime Access Includes

  • Full access to all features available in the Service at the time of purchase
  • All future features and product updates released during the Service's operation
  • Priority support for the duration of the Service's operation

Limitations of Lifetime Access

  • Lifetime access does not guarantee that any specific feature will remain available indefinitely; features may be added, modified, or removed as the product evolves
  • Lifetime access does not confer any ownership interest in the Service, the Company, or any intellectual property
  • Lifetime access is personal and non-transferable — it may not be sold, gifted, or reassigned to another person or entity
  • Lifetime access is granted to a single account and cannot be resold or shared across unrelated organisations
  • Lifetime access may be revoked if you violate these Terms, in which case no refund will be issued

Minimum Service Commitment

We commit to keeping the Service operational and available for a minimum of 24 months from the date of your Lifetime Deal purchase.

This is a commitment to service availability, not a financial guarantee. In the event the Service is discontinued before your 24-month period expires, your sole remedy will be advance notice and data export as described in Section 6. No financial refund will be issued under any circumstances.

6. Service Discontinuation

We intend to operate SecurityStatus for the long term. However, if we decide to permanently discontinue the Service, we will:

  1. Notice: Provide at least 90 days' written notice to all active subscribers via the email address registered on their account.
  2. Data Export: Allow you to export all your scan history and account data in standard formats (JSON/CSV) during the notice period.

No refunds on discontinuation. In the event the Service is permanently discontinued — including within the 24-month minimum commitment period for Lifetime Deal subscribers — no financial refund of any kind will be issued. By purchasing any plan, you acknowledge and accept that your payment is final and non-refundable regardless of the circumstances of discontinuation.

Service discontinuation does not include temporary outages, maintenance windows, degraded performance, or removal of individual features. None of these events constitute a discontinuation of the Service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to transmit, store, or process any content that is unlawful, harmful, or otherwise objectionable
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the Service
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or extract data from the Service beyond normal use
  • Share your account credentials or access with unauthorised parties
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or networks connected to the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or connected systems
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialise your access to the Service without our written permission
  • Use the Service to conduct scans for the purpose of exploiting any discovered vulnerabilities on domains you do not own or have no authorisation to test

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice, for any breach of this section.

8. Scanning Policy

SecurityStatus performs passive, non-intrusive security checks against publicly accessible domain information. Our scans do not attempt to exploit vulnerabilities, inject payloads, or gain unauthorised access to any system.

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to scan any domain you submit. By initiating a scan, you represent and warrant that you are the owner of the domain or have explicit authorisation from the domain owner to conduct security scanning.

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Scan domains you do not own or have no authorisation to test
  • Use scan results to conduct attacks, exploits, or any other malicious activity against any domain or its infrastructure
  • Systematically scan large numbers of domains for intelligence gathering or competitive analysis without prior written consent from us

We reserve the right to rate-limit, block, or terminate access for any user or IP address that we determine is abusing the scanning infrastructure, regardless of whether a paid subscription is in place.

Scan result accuracy: SecurityStatus performs automated checks and provides results on a best-effort basis. Results are informational only. We make no guarantee that scan results are complete, accurate, or up to date. You should validate findings independently before taking remediation action.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and all its components — including but not limited to software, source code, design, text, graphics, logos, scanning methodology, and APIs — are the exclusive property of Cyberneticsplus Services Private Limited and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service solely for your internal purposes during your subscription period.

Your Data

You retain all ownership rights in the domains and data you submit to the Service. We grant ourselves a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your scan results solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We will not sell your data to third parties. We will not use your submitted domains or scan history for advertising purposes.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be error-free, secure, or continuously available
  • Scan results are complete, accurate, or current
  • Defects will be corrected within any specific time frame
  • Remediating all flagged issues will make your domain immune to security threats

Security scanning results are informational only and do not constitute a security audit, penetration test, or professional security assessment. Do not rely solely on SecurityStatus scan results as the basis for security decisions in regulated or high-risk environments.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CYBERNETICSPLUS SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
  • LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, BUSINESS, OR GOODWILL
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON SCAN RESULTS
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM SECURITY INCIDENTS ON DOMAINS YOU SCANNED USING THE SERVICE

IN ANY EVENT, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING UNDER OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory of the claim, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Cyberneticsplus Services Private Limited and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your access to or use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including scanning domains without authorisation
  • Any use of scan results to conduct attacks or exploits against any domain or system

14. Termination

Termination by You

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation stops future billing but does not entitle you to a refund for the current paid period.

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you:

  • Breach any provision of these Terms
  • Scan domains without authorisation or use scan results for malicious purposes
  • Engage in conduct we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to other users, third parties, or the Service
  • Fail to pay amounts due
  • Provide false or misleading registration information

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. No refund will be issued for any remaining subscription period in the event of termination due to a Terms violation.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, we may delete your account data after a 30-day grace period. During the grace period you may export your scan history. After the grace period, data deletion is permanent and irreversible.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall first be submitted to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. By using the Service, you irrevocably submit to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.

If you are accessing the Service from outside India, you are responsible for compliance with local laws. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country that cannot be contractually waived.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Sending an email to the address registered on your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect
  • Displaying a prominent notice within the Service

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.
